"Goodness me! We have covered so much in one day. Slaves, soldiers, scribes - we will be using this day as inspiration for the rest of the term and the planning has practically written itself. Money well spent!" - Mr Davison, Durham teacher.
"We couldn't afford to visit Hadrian's wall this year because of transport costs. Richard's visit turned out to be a better choice all round. Hands-on, engaging and delivered with enthusiasm and expertise. Amazing!" - Mrs Ord, Darlington

Can your class march like a Roman soldier? Are
your noses Roman enough to detect the delicate aromas of ancient
ingredients? Can you learn and write the numbers from I to
X?
This fabulous activity was developed and trialled alongside Gateshead Libraries with great success. Using Roman armour, artefacts and objects that were once in the Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough, That History Bloke will deliver a hands-on experience to fit in with your curriculum requirements.
Various activities to make up your day, including:
Roman armour - how did a soldier train for war? What did he wear and use in battle? Loads to hold and try!
Roman artefacts - have you worked out what the mysterious objects are? Some are surprising - some are disgusting!
Roman pots and jugs - can you design your own based on these replicas?
Roman costumes - are your slaves well trained enough to tie togas on their masters?
Roman toys and games - from knucklebones to Rota...
It's a hands-on experience that your cass will
talk about for months!
